I believe in big dreams - and in removing the red tape and roadblocks that keep our people from achieving them.
This community is my home. I was born and raised right here in District 1, and I’ve spent my life working for the people of eastern North Carolina - as a public servant, a small business owner, and a community advocate. These experiences have given me a firsthand understanding of the challenges our families, farmers, and small businesses face every day.
I know what matters most to folks around here: safe neighborhoods where our families can thrive, great local schools that prepare our kids for the future, and a strong local economy that supports hard work and opportunity. That’s exactly what I’m fighting for.
I’m not a career politician - I’m your neighbor. My commitment is to serve you with honesty and accountability, to listen first, and to always put the people of Eastern North Carolina ahead of special interests.

Eastern NC doesn't need more promises — it needs results. John has delivered a $80M school consolidation on time and on budget, built a new 911 Emergency Services Center, and stood up an Economic Development Council with a dedicated director. That's the standard he holds himself to, and it's the standard he'll keep.
PROTECT WHAT'S OURS
As a volunteer fire chief, John doesn't just advocate for rural communities — he serves them. He's committed to fighting for the funding our first responders need, protecting the water rights and farmland that define Eastern NC's economy, and making sure our way of life doesn't get traded away for someone else's priorities.
MAKE THEM ANSWER
John balanced the county budget without raising property taxes and puts his name on every decision he makes. He believes elected officials should show their work — and answer for it when they don't. That's not a campaign position. It's how he operates every day.
